ANTONINA ERMOLENKO

“From many performances in independent theatres, Antonina is moving on to the mainstream.”

– Leona Faryna Bridges for Promin

Ukrainian-Canadian dramatic soprano Antonina Ermolenko is fast gaining international acclaim for her “diva’s vocal technique and dramatic flair” (Promin), along with her sense of “lyricism and emotional depth” (New Pathway). A disciple of Martina Arroyo, Antonina’s musical approach hearkens back to the Golden Age of opera, while infusing her own unique, character-driven approach to the art form.

Meridian Arts Centre Resonates with Music of Defiance

On November 2, Antonina had the pleasure of performing at a unique musical event at the Meridian Arts Centre's George Weston Hall. Together with pianist Ricker Choi, collaborative pianist Oksana Hahn, and performance artist Loretta Lau, Antonina performed music of Ukraine for a sold out audience.

“The first German concert appearance of Canadian soprano Antonina Ermolenko, on the other hand, was so powerful, that the aria "Tacea la notte placida" from the Verdi’sopera "Il Trovatore”, is probably still resounding through the Aartal valley.””

– Wiesbadner Tagblatt
